　ペッケンダー・ストリートというのは、架空のストリート名。だが、リチャードの家から歩いて数分の距離にあるという。

　そしてリチャードの家は、イズリントン・グリーンのすぐそばにあるらしい。というのも、リチャードがイズリントン・グリーンまで戻ってきたところで、自宅の前にパトカーが停まっているのに気づくことができたのだから。

He arrived back within sight of Islington Green, hardly noticing the distance he had walked. The sudden sight of the police squad car parked outside his house hit him like a hammer and he swung on his heel and stared with furious concentration at the menu displayed in the window of a Greek restaurant.　（同, p. 135）

　話を戻して、リチャードがダークの事務所まで歩いた道筋をたどれば、ペッケンダー・ストリートのおおよその場所が特定できる。
